“There’s no denying that J.D. Vance, Donald Trump’s vice president and heir apparent to the MAGA movement, has been dealt a bad hand in these final days of the midterm campaign. The country’s in an anti-incumbent mood. Trump has perhaps worn out his welcome with voters after 10 years. Prices on necessities are stubbornly high. During a Monday rally in Montana, where the average cost of diesel is well over $6 a gallon, the veep was reduced to reminding his audience that, hey, petroleum prices have been high before, and it’s not the Trump administration’s fault.” (10/28/26)
