“The Senate needs to actually work. Legislation that goes through the committee process often stalls because whichever party has the majority doesn’t want to burn valuable floor time. Too often, though, the chamber looks like a glorified human resources department, with nominations taking center stage while legislation waits for an opening. Advice and consent is an important constitutional responsibility. It shouldn’t become the Senate’s entire identity.” (10/14/26)
