“My desire to feel safe is why you won’t find me wandering drunk down the middle of the highway on a moonless night. Or any other time. It’s smart to adapt your own behavior for the sake of your safety. What I won’t be doing is looking for ways to control you and violate your liberty so I can feel safe. I know violating people’s rights won’t make me safe. It would also be wrong. And weak. Government, as the primary violator of rights, can’t make you safe.” (09/30/26)
