‘If you know the enemy and know yourself,’ Sun Tzu wrote in The Art of War, ‘you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.’ I pray President Trump understands this foe: Mr. Xi, and more generally, the Chinese Communist Party … enemies to all freedom-loving people across the globe.
