“The American people are complaining about affordability. The prices of groceries, automobiles, movies, clothes, gasoline, rent, mortgage payments, and just about everything else are soaring. Many Americans are having a very difficult time making ends meet. So what are they doing? They are calling on their federal officials to do something to solve the problem. In the process, though, Americans decline to confront an important point: the affordability problem is rooted in the systems that the American people have bought into existence and to which they remain irrevocably committed. The affordability problem means that people don’t have enough money to pay for things they wish to buy. Their money just doesn’t go as far as it used to go. There are various reasons for this phenomenon.” (08/24/26)
