“It is clear that the Constitution authorizes very few powers and duties of the president. Thus, it is not the job of the president to steer the economy; create jobs; combat discrimination or anti-Semitism; enact trade policy and set tariff rates; authorize assassinations; nationalize land or an industry; set national priorities; initiate a war; lower prices; ban bump stocks; institute an industrial policy; force Americans to buy American-made goods; establish an industrial policy; make, nullify or suspend laws; rename bodies of water; or wage war on drugs, tobacco, salt, cancer, climate change, or obesity.” (09/29/25)
