“A Texas man is suing a California doctor for wrongful death after a woman he said he impregnated allegedly ended two pregnancies with abortion pills obtained from the doctor. Jerry Rodriguez is suing California Doctor Remy Coeytaux in the Southern District of Texas for wrongful death in regard to two pregnancies terminated with pills Coetytaux shipped into Galveston County after the woman’s ex-husband allegedly ordered them. … The lawsuit comes shortly after the Texas abortion pill crackdown law, introduced by Republican state Senator Bryan Hughes, failed in the Texas House. SB2880 aimed to prohibit the manufacturing, distribution or mailing of abortion pills.” (07/25/25)
