“A federal judge on Wednesday ordered Alabama to temporarily halt its voter removal program, deemed illegal by the Justice Department. Ahead of the presidential election, voter status will be restored to people inactivated who should still be eligible. In a September lawsuit, the Justice Department said Alabama illegally purged voters too close to the November election.” (10/16/24)
