“Russia has launched several waves of drone attacks targeting Kyiv, according to Ukraine’s military, with air defence units engaged in repelling the strikes for several hours. Kyiv, its surrounding region and all of eastern Ukraine has been under air raid alerts since about 1am on Monday, local time. … The attack came after Ukraine said on Sunday that it sent more than 100 drones deep inside Russia to hit a major weapons depot. … Russia did not confirm the strike, reporting only that it had destroyed 67 drones over the Volgograd region and a total of 125 Ukrainian drones over its territory overnight. Volgograd Governor Andrei Bocharov said falling debris from the drones sparked grass fires but did not cause casualties or damage.” (09/30/24)
