“A new online portal has enabled the State Department to process a record number of passport requests for a third straight year in 2024. The State Department processed 24.5 million passports this year, which is 500,000 more than in 2023, department officials announced Wednesday in a news release. The State Department also set a record number of passports processed in 2023 and 2022.” (10/23/24)
