“Police are investigating a late-night residential burglary that ended with gunfire and a suspect being flown to San Antonio for medical treatment. The Del Rio Police Department said officers responded at about 10:39 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, to the 200 block of Ricks Drive after a report of a residential burglary involving shots fired. Police said officers contacted the homeowner, who reported he discharged a firearm after discovering an unknown male inside his residence. … Despite being injured, the suspect fled before officers arrived, police said. After an investigation and a search of the surrounding area, police said the suspect was later located and transported to San Antonio for further medical treatment because of the nature of his injuries.” (10/26/26)
