“A flight to Hawaii from California was delayed roughly five hours after a passenger allegedly made a bomb threat just as the aircraft pushed back from the gate at San Diego International Airport on Tuesday morning. Hawaiian Airlines Flight 15 to Honolulu was scheduled to depart around 8:30 a.m., according to Flight Aware, but soon after the flight detached from the jetway, a passenger was reportedly overheard making a threat to the aircraft’s safety. The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department dispatch received a call from the flight’s captain after a flight attendant said a passenger reported a possible bomb onboard. The San Diego Harbor Police Department SWAT team, Joint Terrorism Task Force, fire department and FBI responded to search the aircraft, Brianne Mundy Page, spokesperson for the Harbor Police Department, told SFGATE. She confirmed that harbor police made an arrest.” (05/20/25)
