“A man was shot and killed Monday while forcing his way into a York County home, according to the sheriff’s office. York-Poquoson sheriff’s deputies were called to the home, in the 300 block of Corvette Drive in the Creekside Landing neighborhood, around 5 p.m. At the scene, deputies found a man who had been shot by the owner of the house. The man jumped the gate when the homeowner and his family were sitting out on their deck, according to sheriff’s office spokesperson Shelley Ward. The family had retreated into their house and locked the door when the man started kicking down the door, Ward said. That’s when the homeowner shot the man.” (07/26/22)
