A Right to Your Property, And A Property in Your Rights

“The left (and even the socially conservative right) seem to believe that libertarians believe property rights no matter what. Property rights no matter what. That’s because people acting as self-owners and respecting their self-ownership requires a kind of laissez-faire, pro-property rights regime (even if it immiserates the poor and leads to widespread poverty and misery). But you would be hard pressed to find a libertarian who actually supports such a position. I’m a strong advocate of property rights. But, in one way or another, most believe that a system of property rights is supposed to solve real human problems and make our lives better.” (07/12/21)
