WA: Homeowner fatally shoots intruder

“A man shot and killed an intruder after the intruder tried to enter the man’s home, threatened to ‘hurt’ his wife and assaulted him Thursday night, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said. According to CCSO, someone from inside the home … called 911 shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday. The caller said an unknown man had gotten past a locked driveway gate and was at the front door of the home and demanded to be let in. The caller said the man was upset and agitated. … the homeowner grabbed a handgun and answered the door to speak to the intruder, who tried to move past the homeowner and into the home. The homeowner tried to calm the intruder and speak to him on the front porch. The intruder told the homeowner to shoot him or he’d ‘go after’ or ‘hurt’ his wife. After several minutes, the intruder assaulted the homeowner and the homeowner shot him.” (07/09/21)
