“The first amendment to the Constitution reads, ‘Congress shall make no law respecting establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.’ Freedom of speech will be the focus here and most censorship of it should be considered illegal. Yet today under the Department of Homeland Security speech deemed ‘disinformation’ is to be fought. Yesterday at a congressional hearing DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkes testified his department created a ‘disinformation governance board.’ Its platform; countering ‘misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular immigration and Russia.'” (04/28/22)
