“Since the days of ‘No shirt. No shoes. No service,’ businesses have reserved the right to refuse service to anyone who the business deems detrimental. So it should be no surprise that after several warnings about sharing content it flagged as inappropriate, Twitter suspended the personal account of Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from its platform. Facebook followed Twitter with a 24-hour suspension. After the suspensions, Greene expressed her displeasure. … J.D. Vance, a Republican Ohio Senate candidate, condemned the suspension, tweeting: ‘Just totally absurd. These companies need to be crushed.’ Twitter and Facebook are walking a fine line with how they determine what is true, which often falls along partisan lines. At the same time, Republicans used to believe in the free market and property rights.” (01/05/22)
