“A tanker and a cargo ship crashed in the North Sea off the East Yorkshire coast on Monday. A fire on the tanker continues to rage — after a search was called off for a missing crew member from the cargo ship. … The oil tanker Stena Immaculate was carrying 220,000 barrels of jet fuel in 16 segregated cargo tanks, according to maritime management firm Crowley, which operates the US-flagged ship. As a result of the collision, ‘at least one cargo tank containing Jet-A1 fuel was ruptured,’ the firm said. … The Solong cargo ship was carrying 15 containers of the highly toxic compound sodium cyanide, a Lloyd’s List Intelligence casualty report said, according to Reuters.” (03/11/25)
