“The Senate races in Florida and Texas are close. The Senate race in Montana is not. When averaging nonpartisan polls sampled in September, the Democratic challenger, Representative Colin Allred, the Texas Democrat, is trailing incumbent U.S. Senator Ted Cruz by just two points. Allred’s counterpart in Florida, Representative Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, is behind Rick Scott, the incumbent U.S. Senator, by 2.8 points. Only one pollster, RMG Research, has surveyed Montana’s U.S. Senate race this month. The firm finds Democrat Jon Tester, seeking a fourth term, losing to his Republican challenger, Tim Sheehy, a first-time candidate by 7 points. … Democrats must be clear-eyed. The Senate map does not look good. They can only keep control by winning at least one state where they are behind.” (09/26/24)
