“A deadly strike hit a school turned shelter in southern Gaza on Tuesday as Israeli forces in the war-ravaged territory’s main city pushed on with a major offensive that has again displaced Palestinians.
The Israel military said the air force had used ‘precise munition’ to strike a ‘terrorist from Hamas’[s] military wing’ near the school. ‘The incident is under review,’ the military said in a statement. The strike hit the entrance to Al-Awda school in Abasan, said a source at Nasser hospital in the nearby southern city of Khan Younis, where victims were taken, adding that 29 were killed and dozens wounded. … Three previous Israeli strikes since Saturday on schools across Gaza used by displaced Palestinians have killed a total of at least 20 people, according to officials and rescuers.” (07/10/24)
