“A Texas appeals court has upheld a lower court ruling blocking the state from investigating [sic] parents for wrongdoing [sic] if they allow their children to receive gender-affirming care. In its 53-page ruling issued Friday, the Texas Court of Appeals for the Third District in Austin affirmed a lower court ruling granting a temporary injunction against state officials. … In early 2022, [governor Greg] Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton ordered state agencies to investigate [sic] gender-affirming care for transgender children as cases of ‘child abuse.’ … Earlier in the week, a Texas judge blocked the state attorney general from accessing information on trans youth from PFLAG, a national nonprofit that supports LGBTQ families.” (03/30/24)
