“A crowd of people incinerated a Waymo driverless car in San Francisco on Saturday night, dramatic photos from the city’s fire department show. The car was traveling through Chinatown on Jackson Street near Stockton and Grant around 9:30 p.m. Approximately 10 to 15 people surrounded the car, according to a spokesperson from the San Francisco Fire Department, and began breaking its windows and spraying graffiti. Someone then threw a lit firework through a window, igniting the vehicle in flames. Waymo spokesperson Sandy Karp said no passengers were in the vehicle at the time and no injuries were reported. … Crowds were already larger than usual in Chinatown on Saturday night, which was the first day of the Lunar New Year.” (02/11/24)
