Musk: Working from home is “morally wrong”

“It was only a matter of time before Twitter’s perpetually outspoken CEO (for now) Elon Musk chimed in with all the other titans of the tech industry with his take on employees working from home. During a wide-ranging interview with CNBC held after Tesla’s shareholder meeting Tuesday — cross-posted on Twitter Spaces, as he did with a heated April interview with the BBC — Musk hurled all manner of invective at what he called the ‘laptop class,’ suggesting that they should not be exempt from working in person while service workers and other blue-collar workers are required to. ‘I’m a big believer that people are more productive when they’re in person, and the whole sort of work from home thing. I think that the whole notion of work from home is a bit like the fake Marie Antoinette quote, ‘Let them eat cake,” Musk, the second-richest man in the world, said.” (05/17/23)
