“One aspect of Nixon I have always found uniquely intriguing and engaging is that he had no illusions about the kind of world politics is. Though he had a great respect for and faith in the power of government, his firmly held conviction was that politics, on the other hand, is an inherently and fundamentally immoral business and vocation.
